TIRED OF CHASING THOSE DARN PEDALS ALL OVER THE FLOOR ??

Try Making You're Own Custom Floorboards!

Let me describe how to do this.
First you take a decent sized piece of cardboard and slide it underneath the front of you're kit, making sure it is big enough for all you're pedals and the two front legs of the rack to fit on it. Now sit behind you're kit and make sure everything is exactly where you want it. With a pencil trace around pedals, the legs of the rack, & around the base of the snare stand. You also need to draw the outside edge of the floorboard making sure to leave about 2 inches too the outside of the racks legs, you want enough strength here so it won't ever bust through. You can get an idea of what I am talking about in the pictures below. Before you remove the cardboard make sure all the spikes from the pedal bases have been punched into it. Now you need to cut the cardboard to make a template so you can transfer this to the actual floorboard material making sure to acurately mark for the rack and pedal spikes. The material I use is called Komacell it is made by Komerling and is sold at most plastic supply houses (Used for making signs and displays) it is a 4x8 foot 1/4 inch thick PVC sheet with a textured finish and comes in various colors.

Okay, this is my finished front floorboard. I have cut and sanded to shape, drilled holes for the rack legs the same size as the rack tubing, drilled holes for the pedal spikes the same size as each spike, and also made sure to cut the center large enough for the snare stands base to sit on the floor.

This is with everything mounted. The only piece I actually had to bolt down was the kick trigger to keep it from jumping around. Everything else seems to stay firmly in place just with the spikes in they're corresponding holes.

Slide it underneath and place the racks legs in they're corresponding holes and that's it. You're pedals will never move again and will be in exactly the same position everytime you set up!

I also made a rear piece to keep the kit from wandering on me. Basically the same just drill holes for the throne and the rear two rack legs. That kit is now going nowhere without you with it!
